This just made my day! I got a package in the mail the other day! Asked everyone what could be inside? Because… I had no clue what was inside either… I opened it up to see all of this… It was like an endless sea of hockey goodness! Thank you Hockey gods! Well seeing NHL 15 was such a disappointment (to most) they seemed to just throw out a BIG update which includes all the features that where missing in NHL 15 and call it NHL 16... Feeling totally ripped off paying 64 dollars total (including tax) at my local Game Stop… I still had to have this game… Was it because it is so awesome? No! Was it all the graphics… NO! (again same game play same as last year) Was it all the new cool dangles you can do (no not one new dangle or move btw)…….. it was the damn Demo that sold me on this game… Which leads me to believe and I quote! “DEMOS SELL GAMES!” I don’t mean just any demo… Time limited demos… where you are literally in the middle of a game (you are actually winning for once) and they shut the damn service down on ya… as pissed as I was… still made me go out and buy the game… I really didn’t think I was going to buy it…. BUT… there is a hurricane coming and to not have any sort of hockey in my life might be more devastating than any hurricane could possible bring =)

I’ve always been a fan of Sher-wood and when my buddy Chris from Hockey Tutorial did this video… it just blew me away… I just had to get my hands on one of these hockey sticks… the Sherwood Rekker EK15 is hands down leader right now with the lightest hockey stick on the market… it also retails for 199… 50 bucks cheaper then all the heavier twigs out there… It seems like a no brain -er to me… I can’t wait to get my hands on this stick.. I’d take the stiffest with a Paul Coffey curve… I’ve been saving my money for it and I will have one!
Check out my nice short and sweet review on the New Extreme Passing Kit or EPK by Hockey Shot! Also check out the video on how to utilize your EPK once you buy it… If you’re a hockey player… this is a must buy! HockeyShot’s New Extreme Passer Pro… this is the stand alone model… it is super heavy and nothing like the EPK… the EPK has the rebounder that clips on to shooting tiles or roll up shooting pad…. The Extreme Passer Pro can be used on ice (with screw down retractable spikes) or in your driveway…
In this video I adjusted the spikes accordingly… also the ice wasn’t the best ice in the world either… but I gave it a go anyways… had a great time with it.. As you can see in the video below… This is a great device if you make your own Ice Shooting pad in the winter… or Grab a Green Biscuit and practice some stick handling and passing in the driveway… (video of that coming soon)….. I will be doing a full review on this device soon… so keep posted….
I took these photos back at my friends shop… this was pre-release of this twig… I haven’t had a chance to shoot with it but the feel of this stick is amazing… I love the dual lie of it as well.. It sits nice a flat on the toe and nice a flat on the heel… It really looks like it might be a stick you might have to get use to but with the way everyone is shooting these days… off the toe for a snap shot… and catch a pass on the heel… either way it is very innovative and I love to see how the sport keeps evolving.. when is the last time you seen this kind of development in any other sport… Long live Hockey! I got to try the Grape flavor this morning before ice hockey. It Tastes just like Jello when it isn’t turned to gelotin form (and seriously who doesn’t love Jello) As a 38 year old Hockey player I need all the extra edge I can get. It really helped my body recover a whole lot faster than just regular water.
Ryan Pizzo says “Tangerine is awesome and this product TRULY helpedy stamina and energy this morning and that is NO LIE. And being a trainer I have used plenty of trash that is just hype.”
Nothing like a good ole fashion Puck off! Well training puck off that is… From left to right of the screen we got:
8oz Fly Puck: made of really hard plastic. Built for stick handling and added 2 oz of weight will help you build up those forearms and etc… Can be used for shooting if you have a tarp but not recommended to shoot off of a goal or anything that could damage the puck. Works extremely well on Dry Land flooring titles (but more on that soon)
Official 6oz Hockey Puck: Well it is an official 6oz hockey puck… plain and simple. Doesn’t slide the best on the dry land tiles as the rest of the plastic based pucks but shoots great off it and is obviously the most durable out of them all….
Verbero Duro Puck: Just right off the bat this puck is a “proto-type” so it is not for sale in the market yet. Just so you are aware of that. It is a hybrid. It has a rubber outside feel to it with plastic sliders on the top and bottom of the puck. Has great feel to it. It also slides really well on Dry Land flooring tiles. With these current sliders in the puck it is for training only. Not for shooting on a net. Probably will work well with a Sniper’s Edge shooting tarp (more on that soon with video)
Green Biscuit: another hard plastic puck that works great on rough outdoor surfaces and actually works really well on smooth practice tiles as well. I don’t recommend shooting with this puck either. I tried it and cracked it my first shot off the post. But this puck will work well if you wanted to shoot into a soft tarp as mentioned before.
All these pucks have found a place in my heart and hockey off ice training. They all have a different feel than another. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. I will have more on this soon with a video to follow. To much details to have this blog post go on and on for hours. If you want to follow the discussion I will be posting it in the review section of www.thehockeynetwork.com and on facebook @ www.facebook.com/uppercornerhockey
I got this in the mail today from Verbero Inline Hockey. It is the Duro Inline Hockey Puck. The most durable inline puck on the market today. This new line of Inline pucks has an interchangable sliders! According to Verbero “Our Team has designed the duro to be not only long-lasting and versatile, but to have profamance akin to that of the advanced Verbero Model”. That is great news to hear because I am going to put this puck to the torcher test! I am going to beat the snot out of this thing and video the whole thing.
